Tongpan is a 1976 Thai docudrama that re-creates a seminar in Northeast Thailand to discuss the proposed Pa-Mong Dam on the Mekong. The film also follows the story of a poor farmer named Tongpan who lost his land to another dam and his struggles to make ends meet. Due to its socialist message and suspected communist sympathies of the filmmakers, the film was banned by the Thai government. It was released on VCD in Thailand in 2006.
