Star is a 2014 Russian comedy-drama film directed by Anna Melikian. The story revolves around young Masha who dreams of becoming a star. She saves money for plastic surgery and auditions for casting roles while also taking care of an elderly man for financial support. Rita, a mature woman, is involved with a deputy minister and desires to get pregnant and marry him. Kostya, the son of the deputy minister, is always in conflict with his father and Rita but falls in love with Masha upon meeting her. After a fight, Rita is forced to leave her lover's house and coincidentally crosses paths with Masha. The film explores themes of ambition, love, and relationships. The film was released in 2014.
