Martian Successor Nadesico is a Japanese anime television series produced by TV Tokyo, Yomiko Advertising and Xebec. It was directed by Tatsuo Satō and features original character designs by manga artist Kia Asamiya. The series aired from 1996 to 1997. A manga adaptation was also published by Kadokawa Shoten from 1996 to 1999. Martian Successor Nadesico follows the story of a group of people aboard the spaceship Nadesico as they fight against an alien race known as the Jovian Lizards.
