Full Metal Panic! is a series of light novels written by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shiki Douji. The story follows Sousuke Sagara, a member of the covert anti-terrorist organization called Mithril, who is assigned to protect Kaname Chidori, a hot-headed Japanese high school girl. The novels are published in Monthly Dragon Magazine and compiled into paperbacks by Fujimi Shobo's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko. The series focuses on Sousuke's missions with Mithril as well as comedic side stories based on his life at Jindai High School.
