DearS is a Japanese manga series co-written and illustrated by Banri Sendo and Shibuko Ebara, credited under their pen name Peach-Pit. It was serialized monthly from October 2001 to September 2005. The series follows the story of Takeya Ikuhara, a Japanese student with a prejudice against humanoid aliens called DearS. However, when Takeya discovers a homeless DearS girl named Ren and takes her in, his perspective begins to change. The manga was later adapted into a 13-episode anime series and a PlayStation 2 video game. The series explores themes of acceptance, friendship, and love.
