BRIGADOON: marin & μελαν is a Japanese anime TV series that aired from July 21, 2000, to February 9, 2001. The story revolves around Marin Asagi, an orphan girl who befriends an alien named Melan Blue. The show takes place in Japan in 1969 and features a setting based on the neighborhoods where the director and art director once lived. The series explores themes of family, trust, and understanding as Marin and Melan try to save the Earth from alien creatures called Monomakia. The music for the series was composed by Yoko Ueno and Yuji Yoshino. A manga adaptation was also created to promote the anime. It was written by Nozomi Watase and published by Kadokawa Shoten. The English version of the manga differs from the anime in some aspects.
